Water, energy and food security are intricately linked. Managing them with a nexus approach is critical to the sustainable development of the human society. The urgent need to enhance the productivities of our water, energy and land resources at the systems level challenges us to innovate. Nanotechnology has changed the landscape of many technology fields and has great potential to do so for the challenges associated with the water-energy-food nexus.
On behalf of the IWA Nano&Water specialist group and the organizing committee, I am very excited to invite you to attend the 2016 IWA Nano&Water Specialist Conference at Rice University in Houston, Texas, the United States. Following the huge success in our first two conferences in Monte Verita (2012) and Sapporo (2014 jointly with the Particle Separation specialist group), we will once again be gathered with top researchers in the field of nano&water with a specific goal of addressing the challenge of the water-energy-food nexus.
Houston, the Space City, is the world’s energy capital and one of the most culturally diverse cities in the US. Please join us for a wonderful scientific conference and enjoy the southern hospitality!
